DECORATIVE CONCRETE

Q: What is the price range?
A: Each price quoted depends upon many factors, such as: area (amount of square feet) to be stained, overlaid or textured. Degree of access difficulty, whether there are textured borders or intricate patterns involved, distance from concrete batch plant, etc. Please give us a call to describe your job, we will give you a complimentary estimate.

Q:How does the cost compare to other options (slate, ceramic tile, brick, etc.)?
A: Decorative concrete is an economical and durable alternative to slate, ceramic tile, brick, and stone. Slate and ceramic tile range in price from $6.00 to $25.00 per square foot laid. Some tiles are priced even higher.

Q: How long does it take?
A: Normally not more than one week. This includes preparation, operation specified and cleanup. Some factors may change the time requirement during the course of the job. These factors include: an increase in area to be covered and weather conditions, as well as others.

Q: How durable is it?
A: The oldest known stained floor still in use is 75 years old. It is located in a hotel in Yosemite National Park. Overlays and textured-poured-in-place concrete are often used extensively in high traffic areas in theme parks, and casinos.

Q: Will concrete crack?
A: All concrete cracks. Saw cuts are made in strategic locations to minimize cracking. Click here to see our decorative concrete crack control specs for more information.

Q: Will old concrete cracks show through if I am having my floors acid stained?
A: Acid stains, unlike paints, are not opaque - they are translucent. This means that some areas will be darker than others, similar to marble or flagstone. Along with the naturally occurring variations and marbling - any blemishes and imperfections in your concrete simply add character and charm. Even cracks look great! Some designers chip and scar floors before they are stained so that the floors have an aged appearance creating more "ambience."
